We know we're asking people to come a long way — here's what we've figured out for getting from Honduras and Belgium into rural Alentejo.
Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport is the gateway for everyone, regardless of where you're coming from. From there, Mourão is about a 2h15 drive south-east into the Alentejo region.
We'd recommend it, honestly — Alentejo is rural and the drive itself (rolling wheat fields, cork oaks, whitewashed villages) is part of the charm.
There's no direct flight from Honduras to Lisbon, so plan on one or two connections — commonly through Madrid, Miami, or another major European or US hub. We'd suggest starting flight searches early, and comparing routes on Google Flights or Skyscanner for the best connection times.
Much simpler — Brussels to Lisbon is a short flight (around 2.5–3 hours), with multiple airlines operating the route. Direct flights are common, so this should be a straightforward one-hop trip.
We don't have a hotel block secured just yet — Mourão is small, so most of us will likely be staying in countryside guesthouses and Airbnbs nearby. We'll update this section as soon as we've locked something in.
